COLLABORATING W/ SELECT
& Urban Cowboy Hotels

We were invited out to Urban Cowboy Lodge for an upstate après-snow weekend of spritzing— and we couldn’t help but jump on the opportunity to make the return over the river.

There is something about the lodge that feels so distant, so removed, yet the location is only an hour away.

With a snow covered mountain holding backdrop, I feel like I have stumbled into the most charming wrinkle of a storybook reality, where every last detail has been considered.

My stress levels drop notably and immediately on arrival– soothed by the forest, cocooned in the valley, greeted with hospitable ease, and lulled by the sensory textures— It’s some kind of magical equation that’s adding up here.

While out for the visit, we were introduced to Select Aperitivo an old Venetian spirit I was unfamiliar with. I liked learning about the various botanicals and herbs they infuse into the recipe to stimulate appetite. The taste is bitter and sweet and deep, similar to Campari or Aperol, yet less bitter and less sweet than either of those, to me… and I liked that.

Between the sauna, sound bath, and fireside cocktails, we left the lodge feeling like a totally brand new humans. Perhaps— the deep copper tub, the cloud-like bed, and fine company didn’t hurt either… Can’t wait to make a return for another spritz and shvitz!
